Blog Homework: What do you do to empower women? Happy International Women's Day on the 8th! 👯

Hi SGland!

I love this theme for blog homework and decided to contribute with my experience.

10 years ago, I was a young and dreaming girl with a heartbroken after my first relationship ended with my partner cheating on me. This affected me a lot and turned me into a more insecure girl than ever.

In this scenario, I fell for the small talk of a "friend" of mine, who used to treat me like a princess. I felt more beautiful and powerful than ever. But I started to broke myself day after day, when this nice and kind guy become f*cking abusive and started to play lots of power games and make me feel like trash.

This is a very VERY common situation. Girls being tricked and then prisoners of bad, abusive, toxic, and even violent relationships. It is strange for people that look for outside to understand why these girls don't leave their partners, once they are clearly unhappy. But everyone that lived an abusive situation before knows how hard it is to leave, you have to be strong at the moment you are feeling weaker, and some people just can't figure out how they are going to survive after this relationship is over.

Well, it took me almost 7 long years to get away from this. And when I finally released myself, I started to feel more and more powerful. And I found myself again, healed myself, and loved this new version of myself.

Nowadays, I'm leading my own design business, become a model, got married to a wonderful man that I truly love, live a life that I enjoy with him, my friends, my pets, and my family.

What do I do to support another woman?

- Tell them they are wonderful and strong, as much as possible. I want every girl around me to be proud of every single step she does in this men's world.

- Encourage business run by women, as a consumer or just sharing it with my network.

- Share my experience and offer my listening to other girls that need extra force to leave their bad relationship behind.

- Show and express myself as I truly was in order to encourage other women to be whatever they want to and to accept their natural body as it was.

It might be simple things, but all of them are important to unite women and build a more fair and equal community for all.

Happy Woman's Day, Girls! I, you, we CAN do it!
