Im meeting my little brother for lunch today ... oh all right, hes my older bro and at 65 this hardly classifies him as little yet Im always going to care for him like that. (I know awwww!)
Anyway, Im constantly being berated for not having any single girlfriends; its not my fault that no ones good enough for my brother right? Does this make me a bad sister?

In other news, to whats really got me fired lately
My greatest fears confirmed.
Soderberg and James Cameron are re-making Tarkovskys Solaris. *gasps* Does anyone else feel the pain associated with this injustice? But wait, theres more George Clooney to star. *gasps again!* Am I just a puritan concerned with homogenisation??
I mean really, when has an original been added to by the remake? Off the top of my head, Luc Bessons Nikita should have been left well enough alone, and thats just one example. What about the Kubricks Lolita?? *sighs* I know remakes are not a new concept, but does the rate of acceleration seem excessive? Its not going to be long now until all citadels of film culture are severed (opps, I mean served) up with the latest celebrities.

What about 12 Monkeys? A much different film than La Jetee, but maybe a contender.
Why anyone would think to Hollywoodize Tarkovsky is beyond me.
Have you seen the trailer for the remake of Charade starring Marky Mark? and it looks like he is also shooting the remake of Michael Caine movie "The Italian Job"?!?!?!?! I guess he is specializing in that now.
We just have to try to ignore the ignorant.
