I had the most amazing experience with one of my tables last night. A little pre-amble.. my major in uni is Business, and I'm studying Chinese. My plan is to be involved in trade with China..

now to the story....

A table of seven Chinese people came into the restaurant last night and I snagged them. I displayed all my waiterly skillz and goodness, spoke a little Chinese with them, and generally used all my charm on them. Near the end of the experience I asked what the group was for (Business of family).

It turned out that I was serving the Foreign Minister of China, several members of the central planning group of the Chinese government, and at least one person from the Canadian Embassy in China.

The embassy official actually invited me to visit the embassy in Beijing when I go to China next summer..

needless to say.. a pretty cool experience.
