I'm not sure how many of you know that I've been studying Chinese for the past year..but.. I have. It's a fun course, challenging and rewarding at the same time. Next summer I was planning on going to China for a couple of months to travel and generally check things out. (absorb culture, practice my Chinese in a place where I would be immersed in it) I even had an invite to sit in on classes taught by a woman in one of my Business classes.
Today my plans changed....sorta. I just found out that there is a scholarship available for students to study in China. Undergrad students (me) even... and the person that makes the decision... is my Chinese prof. And the university that I'd be going to... the same one as my friend from my Business 205 course.
So now, I may not just be going to hang out and sit in on classes, I might be able to actually get credit for them.
I think this qualifies for a ZOMGZ!!!! I'm SO PUMPED.
Ok.. I'm actually pretty apprehensive, but.. I'm gonna go for it and see if I can get the scholarship! WHEEEE!!!!
