Hey SG how are we all doing? It's a new week and we are bringing you something shiny and new!
We are giving spotlight to some of the lovely UK ladies who love to do crafts, music, arts and much more. We will be giving a blog post dedicated to one girl every Monday.
This week we are speaking to UK Suicide Girl @casca
She has just started making Youtube videos on her channel Crafting With Casca
On this video you can see the lovely pink haired lady making a zebra shirt? Can any of you guys make your own clothing? Let us know!
We decided to ask @casca a few questions about her channel!
Tell us more about your Youtube channel?
I only started my channel very recently, I'd always been a bit too self conscious before and was worried about what people would think of me. I've never been very confident in front of the camera, I'm more comfortable behind the lens.
Finally after moving house at then end of 2020 I got the courage to give it a go. I'm always making things or drawing or doing stuff in photoshop so I figured why not film it.
Have you always been crafty or is this a new hobby?
I've always loved making things. I've been sewing since I was a kid (self taught so I was never very good) and my grandma taught me to knit. I love experimenting and trying new things.
What can people expect to see on your channel?
My channel is going to be a mix of sewing and crafts projects as well as art and photoshop (mainly silly stuff like how to photoshop human arms onto a bird). I'm going to aim to do 2 videos a month and try and get a good variety of stuff.
Who's work inspires you?
What are your creative goals for 2021?
My creative goals for 2021 are to really push myself.
I've always played things safe, like, I'd love to make a proper corset or a Victorian walking suit but always just stuck to things I knew I could do.
I've had ideas to make so many things but then let self doubt get in the way, this year I'm just going to go for it.
At the end of the day if I'm filming it and I fuck up than at least I can have a laugh about it and other people can learn from my mistakes.
We would love to thank @casca for giving the time to chat to us.
