Well when it rains it pours.
Ive been having a pretty hard time of late dealing with the stresses of no job and looking for one and other personal issues. When yesterday my roommate decides to tell me....
"I've just been doing a lot of thinking and talking to my mom. And I just think that I need to move soon. Right now with work Im barely making the rent, and bills. And now I have my car and I can't afford the gas or my own food. And my mom told me she can't help me anymore with money because her boss cut her hours at work. So I figured I can squeeze out rent for June, But after that I really need to move out.."
Heres the thing. I used to work at the same place, Universal Studios, and I know for a fact that she can call in every day at 7am that she is no scheduled to work to try and pick up more hours. People calling out sick or just needed extra help you can pick up at least 2 extra shifts a week. She could also cross train for other areas that would give her more shifts and more money but she refuses cuz she likes her easy job. Also, our apartment is 8 min from universal studios. She decided that she would rather only stay at the apartment when she worked and on her days off she stays with her bf that lives 2 hours south of us. So instead of helping her situation by doing all she can to make money she decides to be lazy, move in with him and his family, and bail.
Yes I realize she has given me plenty of time but my issue is the fact that she does have to option to work more and make more money she just doesnt want to. So again she is complaining to me about it and I just want to punch her in the mouth.
I must find a job by June. Or, I will be back in northern California by July.

Well if her name is on the lease and the lease has not expired yet, contractually she owes that money. Best of luck in that situation. I had it happen to me twice.
