Go ahead and laugh at me, but when I was 11 yrs old I was in the America's Favorite Pre-teen Pageant. I entered at my teacher's suggestion, and my mother's chagrin. Of course, as soon as I got to the Ramada Inn with all those horrible little girls I realized the error in deciding to come in the first place. We were judged on academics, poise, and personality. I came in 8th for southern California, and got the outstanding 6th grader award. whatever
My point to this story is that for part of the contest we had to write a short essay about anything we wanted, and if we won we got a $200 savings bond. I won every writing competition I entered since I learned to write so I thought for sure I had it bagged. In the end the girl who wrote about the seasons changing won the award, and 9 honorable mentions went to girls who probably didn't deserve it either.
Guess what? I found the essay! I was laughing my ass off reading it to Mike, who said, "So you've always been this way?" Now I see why I didn't win, LOL! I think it's even funnier that my mom let me turn it in, she probably thought it would cause a stir since it shows what a good little pageant girl I'M NOT. (only I would start off an essay with "God made a mistake...."

All About Parent Raising

God made a mistake when he let adults raise kids. Adults are supposed to be "adult" about things, when really they should be "kids" about things. If this was so we wouldn't have wars, predjudice, and other bad things. But noooo, God had to worry about the population growing! See, that's why he made adults raise kids. So we would have wars, predjudice, racism, and other bad things for people to kill each other over and lower the population.

"Adults" are stupid. They complain about bad in the world when they are the ones who started it in the first place! Adults don't realize that even cutting someone off on the freeway can ruin the whole world! And it does. You cut someone off, and then they get mad and cut someone off, and that person gets mad and does it to someone else, and soon everyone is cutting someone off, and it's causing accidents which cause people to be late for work. Then they get docked in pay, get really mad, come home and yell at their family, and this happens every day and eventually the kids grow up to be more negative than the parents were. If this keeps up, by the year 2000 the world will go to the dogs.

So "kids", it's important to keep your parents in line. Raise them well! Don't let them mess up the world. Take charge! Then maybe after kids have the proper control, we can vote and get ourselves a REAL government system!!!

Classic.
