My head wieghs 4 lbs. I think it probably weighs more than that, but I have no real scientific way to wiegh it other than rest my head on the bathroom scale.

the average brain weighs about 1500 grams(3.3 pounds), so that would be about right if you didn't add the bone mass, whihc is about 2.2 pounds. So the average weight of the head would be around 5.5 pounds, although you have to add in the tongue, hair, skin, eyes, muscles and skin. Despending on what you measure, the average weight is about 7 pounds, depending on sex, age, blah blah. Look at all the amazing stuff I learned in anatomy class, wheeee!
