a friend of mine ran into some trouble last night. namely in the form of a DUI.
I feel for him.
I've never gotten a DUI before, but I've had my share of getting in trouble. Doing things I shouldn't do.
I know where he was at today. in his mind, thinking.
going back through the night, analyzing every turn, "where'd I go wrong?" seeing if you could have found the one decision that wouldn't have made the night go so wrong.
it's a dead end though. i've done it. you can't change what happened. you want to, you think you'll wake up and realize it's just a dream. but that doesn't happen.

one offense might not seem like alot, but pulling yourself out of that hole, well that's something else.

I know that feeling well, and I wish I could make it easier for him. but I can't.


I had my best friend killed by a drunk driver. many years ago.
but I won't turn away my friend now b/c he did what I despise. I won't be that person. i won't make a quick judgement and turn my back. I've had people tdo that to me, and I've done it too. and it hurts everyone in the end.


I'm going out tonight.
