My cat Frank is sick. He has kidney disease. He's about 12 so he's getting to be an old man. He has been very ill for the past two weeks and is just now getting better. I have to give him shots every three days and give him fluids subcutaneously every other day (down from every day). Did I mention I hate needles and they make me a little weak at the knees?
There's been a lot of taking off work early and going to the vet. Working late to make up some hours. A lot of whipping out the American Express too. A lot of serious thinking going on. Luckily he's getting better so hopefully the trend will continue and well, we'll see.
Work is pretty busy. I constantly feel like my job is over my head and am scrambling to keep up. Normally I would be reading some interesting books, but now I am bogged down in numerous Windows 2000 Server books trying to learn as fast as I can. No worries though, I love a challenge and it keeps me on my toes. There's some office politics which I abhor but otherwise I love my job.
There's a girl at work who is flirting with me. We go to lunch once or twice a week and get along well, went to the movies once on the weekend. She's smart, pretty cool, and has a boyfriend (a busy boyfriend, too busy to tend to his woman it seems, her only complaint). She's dropped a lot of hints (telling me how cute I am, blahblahblah) and I'm lettting them sail on by. I'm not so sure about dipping the pen into company ink, plus she has a boyfriend and they've talked about marriage. So the latest thing is she tells me she has a moral dilemna going on, but she can't tell me the circumstances *rolls eyes* and if she explained it using a different situation it would give it away (hmm I wonder what the moral dilema is...do I need to spell out for you what I think it is?). I was like "I can't give you advice if I don't know the situation" and left it at that. Today she tells me she's still having that moral dilemna...*rolls eyes*...women. If you can't tell me about it, it's useless to tell me about it. Unless you want to tease me with it and try to make me be all "Oooh tell me tell me tell me". Sorry, I'm not playing. I expect we'll have lunch again this week and I'll hear more about this moral dilemna...sigh. I'm pretty focused on my job right now anyway.
I was over at my friend Ed's house and saw Doom 3 on his computer. Whoa! What a game. Looks gorgeous and is spooky as hell. I played for a bit and it startled me a couple of times. It keeps you on the edge. I'll borrow it when he gets done with it.

the illustrator tattoo shop in marietta is looking for counter help. that would be pretty cool, although i believe i'd prolly forfeit my paycheck back to them each week in exchange for ink/metal.
sorry to hear about your cat
as for your woman and her whacked out dilemna, just ignore her games. i hate chicks that try to come across mysterious to "intrigue" the man they're after. hopefullly one day she'll come to her senses and do something about something and make a decision. (if that's what you indeed would like her to do.)
thanks for checking in. talk to you later.
if I can be of any assistance with windows stuff just shout. i run two datacentres which are almost entirely windows based (appart from Sun Solaris management systems) and maintain a couple of biggish fairly complex AD networks (around 130 sites, 180 severs, 30 domains, 50,000 users!)
