stuffing

So today, I went back to work after just over a week off. I was feeling fresh, got in early and ready to hit it hard.

I get my computer started up spend an hour catching up on e-mails(!!!!!), take a look at my work load and find out that I have 40 projects that I'm supposed to be dealing with. The office average is around 5. Not happy.

I also finally got to have the meeting with my boss where I told him that I'm not happy and haven't been for sometime. I questioned him about the development programme that they have so far failed to meet and what was supposed to be happening about this. Disappointingly, I got told that my boss wasn't sure that a senior position was right for me, but he appreciates I'm ambitious - he also told me that his hands are tied with regard to a pay rise and that he'd been expecting this conversation to come a lot sooner. He'd even told his superiors that I'd be the first one to start kicking up a stink about money (Atleast it's eventually getting through to people that I don't fuck about and if I'm not happy I'm damn well going to let people know!).

I did also tell my boss that I didn't want it to get to a point where I have to sit in front of him, present him with a job offer from a different company and ask him what he's going to do to keep me - and if I do so, the promise of a development programme isn't going to have me sticking around. Looks like this is what I'm going to have to do though. Looks like I'm looking for work!

Anyway, sorry for the ranty blog. I just needed to get that off my chest and facebook wasn't really the place for it...
