Teaching... is cool. I like it so far.

I have a great group of morning students that are fresh out of high school, a group I initially feared. They're enthusiastic, bright, willing to interact. Much more into learning than I'd have imagined.

The night-time sessions aren't quite as good; the few students who show up are great, but the percentage coming in is woefully small. I think it's funny that the morning students, who are required to take this class, are so enthusiastic about the class, while the night students, who are taking logic voluntarily, don't seem to care.

The amount of work I'm having to do, though, is a little much. I understand and appreciate the time I have to set aside to come up with lesson plans, to do handouts, etc. But why, on top of this, make me head to campus on a day off, for a class on netiquette? Or how about weekly essays? How about mandatory volunteer work- a great oxymoron... or required attendance at on-campus activities? Augh.

Tony started his college fun last week. A Bible college. Yay. He gets shipped to IUPUI for math and English, and most sciences. But, he said, his college has a few sciences... "like creationism."

Yeah. You can imagine the two-hour debate that line started.
