Well, this was an interesting night. Went to Red Garter, met Kali, Sqook, and err... Matt- not sure what his username is here. Took Tony along, and he brought his friend Dave, and both of them disappeared for the majority of the night... returning in time to cheer Kali on as she mopped the floor with the competition.
Anyway.
This was both an odd way to make myself known to other SGIndy folk, and a perfect way. Odd cos, well... Red Garter? A little different than, say, chit-chatting over coffee. Perfect because it was a relatively small gathering, and happened in public (more or less); being dorky and quiet isn't so much of a handicap then, as it would be at a large private party or something. Meeting two people is easier than meeting 20. That might come later, and I'd be meeting more if I make this trip to Kokomo next weekend...
Kali and Sqook were both quite interesting and welcoming. I ignored Tony and Dave for the most part (probably why thel left midway through), and just chilled out, yelling over the music occasionally. Didn't feel too awkward or anything with them; it was a comfortable situation. (I did feel uncomfortable about being in Red Garter itself, however; it reminded me of being in a Victoria's Secret with the ex... anywhere my eyes alit, I felt like a perv. Ended up staring at the floor and ceiling a lot.)
So... I think I came across okay.
(As an aside to Sqook- this is the Nintendo game I keep wanting to call you by: )
Looks like I made it under the wire in remaining in the SGIndy group; the day after Celest added me as a friend, the group went private and booted out anyone sans friends. One of those Catch-22 situations for me; I wouldn't have anyone in my friends list had I not posted to the group, and if I'd delayed by a single day, I'd have not been able to post to the group. *whew* Thanks Celest!
Might sound pitiful, but I'd have been a bit crushed by being booted out- I feel like I need to come out of my shell, socially.
Anyway.

Ha! It was me! Nice to meet you. And yes, the Red Garter was a bit strange of a meet up, but it sounds like it worked to your advantage. Cheers!
