Apparently there have been some questions about my motorcycle tale... so here is some clarification.

The bike itself was crashed at some point and totalled by the insurance company. In Colorado, when a vehicle is totalled, they issue a Salvage Title for that VIN. After that, no matter the condition of the bike (this one has been completely restored), companies will not issue comprehensive or collision insurance on the bike. They see it as "already paid for" and therefore a non-entity. One can still get Liability insurance (and must carry Liability in this state to comply with the law) but if the bike were crashed or stolen, insurance would not pay.

So what this means to me is that if one of those things were to happen, I would be out the full amount of the bike without the ability to be conpensated. I told the owner that there IS a price I am willing to eat but his asking price was high enough that I was unwilling to take that risk at that price. We'll see if he comes back with a figure that I am comfortable putting on the line. Like I said, the bike is in great condition (now).

So there you have it. I was pretty bummed about it Monday night but now am okay. It isn't like I don't love my current bike, ya know?

In other news, um... I guess I don't really have any other news! How weak is that?
