forgive me but i feel the need to rant. what is the deal with ashcroft, bush, et al and their desire to curtail all of our civil liberties? please. freedom of speech is a truly amazing gift and they seek to silence any who have opinions that run contrary to their agenda. protesters are routinely kept at a HUGE distance from bush and his cronies and are "detained" for speaking their minds. it is appalling.

and if someone could please explain to me the hubub about same-sex marriage, that would be wonderful. pundits would have us believe that granting rights to two people in love would "destroy the sanctity of marriage". please. over half of all marriages end in divorce. hets can currently be married in a drive-thru by an elvis impersonnator. sanctity? i think not. i believe marriage should be about love and two women or men in love dedicating their lives to one another is way more sacred than two drunken idiot hets tying the knot in vegas. but maybe that is just me...
