Today is a very important day for me, if not the most important for me this semester.
The IU board of directors is meeting in order to approve the creation of the Indiana University boxing team.
The measure should go through, and then I finally will be on my way to getting in the best shape of my life, and starting my own amateur boxing career.
For anyone that's interested, the club is going to set up actual bouts between Big Ten schools (Michigan, MSU etc.) where the team will compete, as well as creating a charity match in Bloomington next spring called "Punch Out Poverty".
The only problem right now is, #1 I'm definitely going to have to kill myself to get in shape for this, and #2 no one is even close to being in my weight class.
I'm 100 pounds bigger than anyone else on the team, so I have no idea who I'll be sparring with.
I assume we don't have any big lads on the team because they are all or most (other than me) on Varsity athletics getting scholarships and won't be able to join up and fight.
Anyways, I'm pretty pumped, this has been a dream of mine for years and its finally coming to fruition.
I'll keep everyone informed, and stay tuned if you'd like to come to a fight, I'll post information on here.

Otherwise in my heavyweight fights I will have an advantage since chances are I'll be bigger than all of my opponents.
