A friend of mine is running a booth at the Ren Faire and needed someone who knows swrodfighting to help her out. Now I'm selling wooden swords on weekends at the Faire.
I must say that these aren't just cheepo swords. Solid Hickory... damn well ballanced, and will rip a standard Boken to shreds!!! Lifetime guarantee... if you break one of these swords in fair play (meaning against a wooden object, not concrete or steel) they'll repair or replace it for free. For anyone who is serious about weapons sparing, but doesn't want to have to deal with slicing limbs off with live-steel, these are the absolute next best thing! The weight and ballance are the same as a real sword, and the prices are really worth it for the quality and longevity of the blades. (All standard swords under $75, from Bastard Swords down to Daggers)
Anyway... that's what I've been up to. If you go to the faire, that's where I'll be.
Tonight... I'll be at the Castle. Not making the Wolfshiem show, but could sure use a drink tonight at the afterparty.
Still unemployed in the Monday to Friday aspect, but I'm waiting on some leads to come through for me. We'll see. In the meantime, I'm starting to work with a good friend of mine who is a mortgage broker. That can turn in to six figures if I play it right.
