Just wondering, where is Oprah? Has anyone seen or heard anything from her? In 2008, she was everywhere campaigning for Obama and he appeared on her television show several times, but this time around, the silence is deafening. In April, she did an interview on the Charlie Rose show during which she confirmed her support for Obama, but also stated she would not be campaigning for him. That seems rather strange to me as Oprah is actually credited with naming Obama "The One," and her support for him in 2008 no doubt influenced many of her millions of loyal fans? Well, if we know nothing else about Oprah, we know that she is a smart, savvy business woman who built a Billion dollar business from scratch based on promoting her own personal brand, a brand she no doubt cherishes and wants to protect!! Consequently, it really doesn't surprise me that Oprah doesn't want to be seen in the public eye as closely associated with Barack Obama these days. Obviously, the "real" Obama turned out to bear little resemblance to the image he projected in 2008. A rising tide lifts all boats, and as an unabashed self promoter, I'm sure Oprah was happy to ride that tide back in 2008, but four years later the tide has clearly receded, so you can't really blame Oprah for not wanting to go down with the ship!!
