I worked with my future boss, current assistant-manager Sunday. The store fell to pieces - one of the registers froze (it's a computer), the money order machine fucked up, I couldn't find paper for the lottery terminal, I ran out of quarters, and the credit card server stopped working which meant people who pumped gas but only had credit cards were screwed.

I was the one who had to deal with the angry customers but the assistant manager nearly had a breakdown and would patronize me anytime I desperately needed help with their problems. It's not much fun being condescended to in front of a dozen customers and even less fun when it's because she thinks her problems take priority over their's and I'm the one who gets in from both ends.

The Radiohead concert was mind-blowing - insanely fucking good. I was in a part of the ampitheater that was under the sky, and there were distant rainclouds. I was worried that we'd get poured on, but we didn't get a drop the whole night. Terrific displays of lightning would flash in a section of the sky every five seconds.

The highlight of the show for me was when they played Kid A and hearing Thom Yorke actually singing the lyrics. The album version of that song doesn't do it justice. The voice effects just hamper what I had never realized was an amazing song. I'm looking for a decent live version of it.

Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks did a great job opening. Hearing "Dark Wave" and "Animal Midnight" live (among others) was great.
