It's no secret to my family that I do nude modelling. They don't want to see it, but they claim not to be ashamed.
I have a modelling page on FB to promote myself and my art...And today I shamelessly posted a request for a Fine ARt Nude photographer I know to do a "Nude in Nature" photoshoot. This isn't something that I think is out of the ordinary, and definitely not something I thought I would need to feel ashamed about.
I ended up getting two messages from two relatives saying that they saw my request and it was strange but they love me anyway.
I....I don't get it. I really don't. For one, my body. Two, they know I do this for a living. Three, It's a body. Holy fuck. tits. Ass. vagina. Penis. IT'S BEAUTIFUL! I fail to understand the shame! AND FOUR...It was posted on my professional modelling page. Not personal one.
Ugh. Guys. What.

Unfortunately, this is something models like us will always have to go through. Sometimes it's just no use trying to understand people who judge us because they just grew up in an entirely different era and brought up in a different culture than we live today. It's always going to suck especially when it's your own relatives, but the best part is they'll have to get over it because they're your family. Your happiness is always most important and eventually the ones who care for you will turn around. It is art and you should be proud no matter anyone says!
