I am SUPER stoked to read everyones blog homework assigned by @rambo and @missy this week ! have quite a few ideas seeing the burlesque show myself. I think the pieces that work best are the ones which reference pop culture favourites since they get the audience even more pumped (as if the babes & boobs aren't enough). I thought long and hard about what the choreographers and girls would have a blast working on, as well as what I would LOVE to see so these are my top three ideas !!! :
First off I think a "Who framed Roger Rabbit" Jessica Rabbit solo would be sexy as hell and interesting to put together.
Another piece that I think would win the audience over is based on "Orange is the new black". I would start the dance with girls in prison jumpsuits and shackles. There is no doubt in my mind that every single person in that audience will have a heart attack considering how much OITNB blew up over the past year or so.
This idea is only half way thought out since I couldn't find the right song that is an equal balance of sexy, badass and fun but nonetheless my last movie reference would be "Spring Breakers". I'm thinking bikinis, ski masks, guns and money bags. Though in my opinion the movie was crap- I think it would be a wicked piece. Don't quote me on the song choice ! I'm still not sold on it.
