So.......my newest creature is a Burmese Mountain tortoise.
What is so special about having such a bland looking tortoise as a pet??? How about this...basically it is Asia's largest tortoise species. The 4th largest tortoise in the world. This species WILL be extinct by the time you and I are 60. It has the oldest genome of any tortoise in the world: it is the only tortoise that builds a nest and guards the eggs like birds do...the closest link of reptile behavior in tortoises that is similar to birds. Basically, I now own a species of animal that WILL be extinct in only a few decades. I'm going to make this tortoise my family heirloom and pass it down from generation to generation. This is one bad-ass pet! THey are known to be some of the "smartest" and most "curious" of all tortoise species to have as pets!
If you think you spoil your cats and dogs, you have no idea what lengths I will be going to keep my tortoise happy, healthy and social to people!
