So yesterday was trick or treat night here in Des Moines. It is my favorite day of the year.

But it is a lot of hard. We do not put up any decorations until the actual day. And so it is always a long day to get everything setup and put out all the decorations. Basically about ten hours of work for two priceless hours of frightening kids. I got done decorating the yard and had just enough time to get my costume on and join the decorations in the yard. This year, I stood very still and waited for the kids to get up to the door and then I turn and said "Boo". It is so much fun to listen to them debate whether or not I am live person or statue.

The best one was this group of teenagers, who could not decide if i was a real person or not. Finally, one of the girls said, "Someone go over and poke and see if it real. I know if I do, it will turn around and say 'Boo' and I will scream."

You can not get better setup than that, so I turned and said "Boo" and she did indeed scream. My wife came out after they left and was laughing. She said she could her scream in the family room even with the TV on.

And that made the entire night worth it for me. You can not ask for anything better than that.
