Society is so fucked... Some idiots are so set in their individualist, capitalist ways, that no amount of witness to evil will ever change their views... They have come so far, justifying their actions (or inaction), that to admit a need for change would mean they were wrong all along. It would mean that they would have to accept their role in allowing or participating in such terrible events. Then they would have to face the incredible guilt, and it's just not worth it to them. It's almost like a survival mechanism for them to make excuses and turn a blind eye. Now what?
