Grooooooooaaan..........

I really hate family-type events like holidays and weddings. My older sister's getting married at the end of May, and all my extended relatives are coming up.

I like my nuclear family fine, but my uncles' families are so, urgh. Uptight, judgemental, wealthy, puritanical, super-achieving, holier than-thou, hardcore Christians who never shy away from making cutting backhanded remarks ("Someday you'll make us proud"), especially about things that happened 20 years ago.

They are not very fun people, and they dislike me about as much as I dislike them. But we have to pretend to like or care about each other at family events. Such a drag

And I'm going to have to keep them company and be around them for about at least an entire weekend and talk about my least favorite subject: Me and what I'm doing with my life. I'm starting to get anxious and neurotic just thinking about it. I don't want to miss my sister's wedding, but I can't help but think about how I can get out of it
