When work seems like home and home seems like some place you stop by now and than and just hang out for a little while yoiu know you are working to much,lol. Thank god i love my job.
so i had my little mini vacation last weekend and all the good it did seems to be washed away in one day. i have again worked a call weekend, and have put in 15 hours of overtime in the last 18. I did get to sleep from 4:15-6:30 am, but working another 9 hours kinda takes it all outta ya. But i have got to say i wouldnt trade the experience for anyhing. I have seen some of the coolest cases in the last 2 days that i have ever seen.
One gentleman had one of the worst thoracic infections i have ever seen. we pulled off 3.7 litres of fluid and puss and removed aboiut .5 litres of crud. it was amazing to see lungs and pericardium all infected when we started and than looking almost completely better when we finished.
Also saw the worst appendectomy in my life. it was worse than most belly cases i have been in on. it was worth the exaustion to see.
Well im gonna try to get some sleep now. than hopefully work some more tomorrow. Gotta chase the big dollars baby, YEAH! not to mention the adrenalin you run on in emergency surgeries kicks ass on anything else in life, cept maybe when you almost die doing crazy fun things.
