Lost my cat , Raven, last night 
Found her in shock in my yard, probably hit by a car. There was no way she could be saved, so I just put her on the front porch, wrapped her up and petted her as long as I could.
My kids were home, and I knew I couldnt take her in the house because her cries would wake them up and then it would be a worse night, so I let her pass, and broke the news to them in the morning.
After the divorce she has been my main companion, sleeping with me at night and always there to greet me in the morning.
This sucks.
