I have a B in my Shakespeare class at the moment, and an A in my Theatre class. Poetry and Advanced Compostion are both A's too. biggrin Not a bad mid-way point set of grades.

Saturday is the poetry reading that I am performing at for out small...

Good luck with reading and the test. I am going to meet with the dude at the bike shop to work on pricing out a Surly Cyclo-cross. He said I could help put it together. Now, off to bed.
giavanna:
Good luck with everything. I hope you do well on your test!

Many thanks to kowtow. I sent him a poem of mine and asked him for critical suggestions, which he did. I took some of his thoughts, combined them with my intentions and I think it is something I can be happy with. Very cool. It may still be revised, but I know it is close now!

I am producing a book at the end of...

My pleasure. I haven't gotten a chance to really read the other poem but I did go over it once and I loved it. Unfortunately my life has gotten in the way and I haven't had a spare minute to sit down with it. Close reading of poetry is something that I just started doing with WH Auden, Wm. Carlos Williams and Octavio Paz. I love Paz. It's almost unChristian how much I love Paz's work.

Eating scrambled eggs with chorizo, drinking English Breakfast tea, The Clash is makiing the floors vibrate.

Another long night with my friends, but not bad. Lots of laughs, a little bit of drama, and all that..

It is a cloudy day here, it looks like spring rains are coming, but hard to tell. I am ready for warmer weather, lots of cycling, mountains, camping, all...

i have mixed feeling about change.i have known most of my life that everyone of us has th power to change what we don't like, that's just a matter of guts, and doing what need to be done.
my mother thinks i'm nuts and that we are not the ones that managed change, but change just come to use, unexpected.
right is the moment for me to prove my theory but i'm in panic. and i aparenttly can't do a thing.
i guess change is hard blackeyed
well, i guess that is a mix of both and when the time i sright we have the power to change or something, good luck with everything mister

I entered a "biggest loser" contest at work. $25 to get in, weigh in every Sunday, and the contest ends in June with the winner taking the pot. I like to be around 175lbs or so (I am 6ft), but at the end of last summer up till now I have let my self go a little and I am about 190lbs. UCK. I am...

So back in August I weighed in about 350lbs, much heavier than I want to be, but I am 6'5" so I was able to spread it out. Today I weighed 290 with a target weight of 240, which means I am closer to my desired weight than I am to my original weight. How neat is that?

So my best friend manages to drink himself drunk until he is 4x over the limit. He then gets into a fight with his girlfriend, takes a knife, and slices himself right under the ribs. I guess he was after the attention? I dont know.

Anyway, the slice was just deep enough to clip a couple of important blood vessels and his ass ended up...

I so love having a laptop. I wish I would have had one a long time ago. It was super cool to be in the library searching for books without being tethered to the computer lab... And I can check in here wink

I have one paper to write, and I am doing research for a love poem I want to pen.

Still have the reading...

Complicated love. Ugh!

Spring break starts on Friday from one of my jobs, and on Monday from my other and school. I plan to head to the mountains in my Land Cruiser and write on the first weekend. Spring cleaning and writing and more importantly, hanging with my daughters after that.

This is a week of hell though, taught tonight, partent/teacher conference tomorrow night, teach...

Where do you get your Lapsang? I use a company in Boston called Timeless Teas. They specialize in Sri Lankan teas and they have a wonderful Lapsang Soochong and if you are into black or green teas as well they have a black tea called Uva Highland that I rate very highly and a green tea called Morning Dew that is sublime. I also like an oolong they have called Hairy Crab, but the reality is that I am a twelve year old inside and that is part of the reason why I like it.

We are having a very typical spring day here in CO. Spitting snow, wind, grey sky. It smells really good out today. We need more snow, it will keep the dust and dirt on the ground and not in my lungs.

Almost spring break, almost. And the nice thing is, I get off of both jobs too. It will be a real break for me....

I managed to order or buy six books last Friday. I picked up a complete works of Dickenson and Neruda's "Las Piedras del Cielo". I ordered three books of Victor Herndandez Cruz' poetry, none of have come in though, as well as the orignal scroll of Kerouac's "On the road".

I am starting Hamlet in my Shakespeare class, and not sure what we will start...

Total technology disappointment...

My college has a webpage that says they have 50-some-odd units left of the computers they sell. Dells with XP, Office 2007, AVG, flat screen all for $249.

Yeah, well, that was in the summer, they are sold out.

Really? Then why not update the page! UGH.
kowtow:
that sucks, man. Have you tried the Mac reburbished machines or maybe the Dell resales? You can usually find a good machine with a warranty that way.

As luck would have it, I am without a computer... again. This time my hard drive crashed. Toast. Gone. Blue screen of death.

I am torn. do I order a new laptop? Or buy a super cheap used desktop that is three years old from the college I go to?

Hmmmmmm

I miss the Suicide Girls when I cant log in
lee:
I say buy a cheap used desktop for now.
kowtow:
cheap used desktop, then splurge on a super good 'puter later in a couple of years. Get through school, post often, read good books, keep it simple.

Hopscotch, by the way, might be the best book I have ever read.
