Thank you! blush I have more on the way to share, although they aren't all SG pics. I shot tonight with a local photog who's quite good, super excited to see the final results - my first paid shoot ever. Looks like I may be able to actually make a living out of this. I feel so lucky smile I would have never, ever thought that at 33 I'd be starting a possible new career. On that note, good luck on your teaching! Hard field to get into, considering so many go that route. My brother is a history teacher.

What a crazy stretch this has been. On Thursday I went to the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) conference in Denver. It was bad ass. I listened to some really good panels, got to hear Alberto Rios and Sherman Alexie and so many more...

There was a panel on Latina writers and one on translating contemporary South American poets, those just rocked.

Before...

Now time to start the crazy run to the end of my final semester. Today, I formatted 40 pages of my book that is due at the end of the semester. I split it into three sections, poetry, love poems, fiction. The last three sections are done, I have more poetry to put in for the first section and waiting for the critique of my...

Jiu-jitsu has been the perfect daughter/father sport for me and my girl. She took 2nd at NAGA yesterday. She lost to a boy, she made a technique mistake... I asked the coach to now roll her against boys to prepare her better... She wants to compete at State in a month.

I think she had an edge on the mat because I was there with...

I finished the three essays for my graduate school applications. One for Antioch in LA, Warren Wilson in NC, and Bennington in VT. All of them low residency MFA programs. I also decided on what 10pgs of poetry I would send them, and got those edited and printed.

This semester is really kicking my ass though...

I have been reading a bunch of British Literature,...
