I go back to work on July 16th. I'm very excited to be able to dress in nice clothes and talk to grownups again, plus I love my job and my coworkers and I'm good at what I do. But, I'm definitely going to miss my little O. I feel really good about the babysitter we've picked, but I'm so worried that 1. he'll be a crabby mess and an awful child to deal with 2. he'll learn to like her more than us 3. he'll be sad and miss us 4. etc. etc. I'm sure all parents with a kid in daycare feel pretty much the same way.
In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy my last 2 weeks of being a stay at home mom. We've got a trip to Babies R Us, the big park, the mall, and one or two more places in our future I think. I'm glad my parents will be back in town this weekend. I'm totally missing being able to drop by their house when I get bored in the middle of the day.
We had some horrible storms come through this past weekend. The wind hit 90 mph just north of us. HUGE trees uprooted, branches down, stoplights out. Baby slept through most of it, but we lost power and headed to my parents' house for the night with our frozen stuff. Too bad their A/C is made of fail and we had to spend the night in 83 degrees. But, I'm pretty sure I would've died without all my steam-in-bag veggies, so I'm super glad they were saved!
