Hey kids.
So.. here comes teh picture update.. only its all granny style. Cuz im not lookin all hot.. im showin off my house and plants. Its true. I might as well be 70. Ha..
So.. this weekend Friday and I redecorated our living room. I bought like 12 japanese prints.. from this guy. whos painting i also bought. Then i framed tham all, excepthte scroll painting, duh. And then we painted the wall a tanish beige color. Then i pulled my plants up and vined them across the walls. So yeah..

Tahts above the entertainment center.. i cut that out.. cuz its jsut a tv, a nintendo and like a shit load of records. Not so impressive. But you can see a few of the prints and my pothos growing across the wall.

This one is the oppisite wall. That blanket my mom made me when i was a baby ha.. Adn you can see a couple japanese demon mask type prints and my pothos growing there too.

Thats jsut the corner.. but you can see a coupel prints.. and my scrool painting. Its an actuall painting of blossoms on rice paper. With a porclian rod.. and it has silk fabric asa boarder. smile
....
So.. Tonight i left work early to take a bonsai class. I was assumign since i was only a few hours it would be very basic. I was blown away with the knowledge. Tehre were peopel in teh class who have been tending bonsai for 20 years and said they learnt more in that one day than the 20 years. The guy who was teachign the lass was obviously passionate about his interest.. and very intelligent. Which made the experience a lot more interesting. I learnt about different soils, different enviornments of the plants.. different structures to guid your bonsai into.. different fertilizers and what the compisitions of them will produce in a bonsai plant. We learnt soem history of bonsai and some current events with bonsai in the world today. ha. Then we were shown.. hands on how to unpot a juniper and dig the roots apart.. trip the excess unneeded roots.. then how to wire the roots to the dish. how to wire plastic screens over the holes.. And how to repot the bonsai in a healthy mixure of bonsai dirt ect. Then we put moss ect around the help decorate the ground. And we learnt trimmigntechniques and how to wire, and why to wire. How to remove wire and how to avoid scarring. Seriously. A Lot lot of info. Then we got a couple of info sheets and a phamplet called "bonsai survival guide".. all of this was 35$. Which is kidna confusing.. because the bonsai plant.. even a juniper.. in a poet is usually about 35-40$. We got the juniper.. we got the plant pot.. we got rocks, moss, dirt.. We got papers, a book.. and 3 horus of professional training. For 35$. Best class ever. hah..
Anyway.. they are actually a lot of work.. but im lookign forward to it.

This is the japanese maple I bought. Its really lonely right now and needs to be repotted. I think im goign to buy like 3 more.. and set it up as a forest type scene.. with soem moss and a few rocks ect..
Maybe something like that above?
Or.. when its older.. like in 10 years.. it could look soemthign more liek this

Which is sooo pretty.. but it takes a lot of work for a few years to get the trunk that thick .. smile
This next one is a thousand star serissa. It has tons of tiny little white flowers i nteh day.. in teh sun. Its my favorite.. Its an indoor one.. and the others arent.
I have soem work to do with this one.. pruning ect.. maybe soem shaping.. but its naturally very pretty and its roots are showing a little.. which gives it a really pretty look.
and lastly.. Im puttign up my juniper.. it was repotted.. pruned ect today. I think i trimmed a lil too much in a couple spots.. but hey! it was my first time! so go easy on me! haha..

now.. heres anotehr picture of a juniper..
So.. i think mine looks pretty good so far.
Im gonna work with these three for a little while.. but i think im gonna try and find an older maple.. or trident maple.. We'll see if i dotn kill these first, i guess. Ill try really hard. Im pretty excited. smile

What great colors in your room.
Fascinating stuff.
Years ago, when I had some money,
I ran into this Japanese gardener
who worked Telegraph Avenue on weekends
selling these dwarf or minature forests,
which were these idyllic Japanese forest scenes
except they were fucking alive and real
but really small enough so that you could put
the whole forest on your front table.
I went nuts for the biggest piece, of course,
and I think I paid $800 say seven years ago.
But boy was it worth it. I used to sit there in
the morning after I got up, and watch the bridge
between the knoll and the round tree
as if I were really waiting for somebody.
I think I was. There is more than one of them.
Not often, but they still find me from time to time.
Keep your eye open now. love, bob
