"I'll put the stuff (my flesh) back under (my skin) now" - words I think will remain with me for all time. I had my implanon (contraceptive) implant removed this morning. There have been recent studies suggesting that it increases insulin resistance (which I already have) in women with PCOS (which I also have). Besides, I think my body deserves to be free of artificial hormones for a while. This was all done under local anaesthetic, and wasn't the most straightforward of operations (no pun intended). The doc had a lot of trouble getting hold of the implant (this isn't the easiest of things to do and the doc was in no way at fault) with the forceps and kept tugging flesh out instead (at least I think thats what it was). It took so long I had to had a second injection of anaesthetic. Fortunately I saw the funny side of it, having never heard a member of the medical profession make such amusing noises (including lots of muttering about wiggling away and talking to the implant itself) but it eventually came out. I should have kept it as a souvenier (sp?) perhaps. Then came the salvage Emma's arm mission. It wasn't pretty.

In other news:

It's weird. I think if i got a 2:1 I'd have celebrated more. I never really considered getting a 1st as a vague fantasy so it sortof doesn't feel real.

At the moment I'm doing temp work as a Support Worker but have a few things coming up in terms of a proper job.

It seems I'm doing more forum posts than ever... just its on the Games Workshop forum for the Medusa V campaign. Perhaps when the campaign ends the posting joy will spread to here.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are coming to the Madejski Stadium on Monday - and I have tickets WOO! - so fingers crossed we have good weather. Either way it's gonna be awesome.
