in an ongoing attempt to write songs not about HER...we wrote this as a joke yesterday...even though it's silly it sounds REALLY good.

singing through the amp sounds pretty good
we can sing for the whole neighborhood
singing through the amp doesn't sound half bad
if we give it all we've got
we can sing for the block
we can sing for the cops
we can sing for the girls at the mexican restaurant
cause they're so goth...

had to stop and laugh after that...sort of red house painters meets death cab for cutie at disneyland feel...good times for sad folks. i don't think it's gonna make it onto the next record but it might be fun to finish.

any suggestions for additional lyrics?

1) i'm sure i missed something in donnie darko, cause i just don't see what the fuss is about. i even watched it again with the directors commentary on. ???
2)emo rap is a title SPIN magazine threw onto some hip-hop artists so that they could categorize them within the confines of what is largely white made and listened to music-emo. by doing so they grant these artists greater acceptance into the "white mainstream" and can additionaly legitimize them to the predominantly indie rock readers of SPIN. my thesis.
3)i keep politics out of dating. and neways, most girls i';ve dated are so poorly informed it would be a waste to even discuss the topic.
4) emo rap? what show was this?
5)i like the lyrics! good time for sad folks- very true. self-deprecation doesnt need to be so serious and sullen all the time. more humour goddam it! smile

oh sorry, i meant that mssg to be "most girls i've dated" not most girls in general...

i find intelligent girls to be extremely attractive, unfortunantley whenever i meet one my mind basically shuts down and i end up acting like a grinning jackanape and not the pseudo-intellectual i think i am. i suck.
