Every Thursday i meet with a bunch of my friends for drinks and bar food. Sometimes it's just two or three of us, and sometimes there might be eight or nine, sometimes more. It's normally just guys, but often girlfriends, fiances, or wifes are with us, and it's great.

I've been doing this for at least five years, at the same place. And tonight i was reminded, again, how fantastic it is to have friends that are your family. Even when i am not in town, i call on Thursdays anyway. I've called from Las Vegas, Charleston, and Kauai. And each time the cell phone gets passed around the table, everyone full of happiness and good cheer.

So here's to that kind of family, and those kind of friends!
