.Wow, it's been more than a month since the last update, who would have thought the time went so fast.

I'm almost done moving stuff from the old shop, there's just the big lift - all 2,200 lbs and 15' of it- and then i'm out and the place gets torn down. How surreal. I put 6 years of work and my life into that place and it's all going to disappear practically overnight. I had some great times there with some very special people that I don't get to talk to much anymore (or at all).

What an unfamiliar feeling of loss, repeated.

What tangible reminders of your past are gone now, and what memories do you associate with them (good/bad)?

How does their destruction affect you?

Oh, heavy dUty. When I left the studio that I built last year to come here and be with Clovesbud, it was probably the hardest thing I've ever done. I knew that one day I'd be able to have that again, that I could build up something amazing with my bare hands and enjoy it with likeminded people and all that stuff. BUT STILL. The loss still hits me when I'm working here in the living room, making a mess, and never being able to "tidy up" because this whole house is now my studio. We are moving to a new apartment in September, and it will save us enough money that in the not so distant future I will be able to get a closet somewhere to work, and I can't WAIT to not work from home any more. So, tearing things down and building them all up again is a recurring process in my life over the last two years. I feel simultaneously invigorated (sp?) by the destruction, and overwhelmed at where to begin again. That's a deadly combination. It means I'm full of energy and have no idea which direction to point it in. But you keep on going, right? I feel for you and your workshop. *hug*

My shoes are okay, but the bright orange laces are. That was all I could afford to spruce up my wardrobe recently, but it did the trick for me. wink

"Long, low, and spare furniture" love
