Bus drivers eh! Eh! Little devils!
So I came up to a roundabout in Kingston, there was a car in front. The driver in front was looking to his/her right and when it was all clear pulled away, with me in 'persuit'. BUT just as we pulled away a bus came whizzing out to our left from a bus lane and almost wiping out the car in front of me as we slammed our breaks on!
Now I am a glutten for road rage. I can't help myself. The redmist descends upon me and away I go, off on a tangent, no plans to come back.
Pressing the car horn was a simple knee-jirk reaction, not something I contemplate for a few seconds. I think the car in front of me may have thought I was 'bibbing' at them but oh no, the bus 'driver' was my current concern. So anyway, with my pedal to the metal, around the car in front I went, this time in persuit of the bus, to which I flashed my lights at a bit. Rah.
Driving along, the whole time I'm thinking 'in a minute this bus is gonna make a turn leaving my route of channel and I'm not going to be able to give him some verbal!'. Sad huh.
Strangely, this bus I assume was out-of-service because it kept on my route and was following another bus. We were heading towards a junction where the roads splits into two lanes. Perhaps this would be my chance, although I though the buses would go side by side leaving me no room to pull along side. But alas, they went in single file so up to the bus doors I sped, stopping with a toot on the horn.
*Bus doors open*
*Ahem*
'There's a Give-Way sign to buses back there mate (why do people always call someone mate despite them clearly not being so) because when drivers are at the round-a-bout they're looking to give way to their right and can't see buses to their left.'
'Yeah you're probably right, sorry' he replied.
Eh? How taken-a-back was I? No argument or verbal back from him? I was all set for slaps at dawn etc! Oh well, made me chuckle eventually!
Moving on, work was good, quite productive even. I like it when I actually do stuff, and a couple of times I pushed an engineer for us to investigate faults further to the point where we fixed them. Some engineers at work are just keen to pass jobs on to others. AKA give it the old famous Spanish fiddler..... El Bow.
I'm tired.
