Somehow, this is my seventh day off work!?
I'm back in tomorrow mind. But due to a change in shift pattern my normal four days off were followed by three days off on the new pattern! Result!
Not only this, but my new shift pattern is 40hrs over Tuesday-Friday from now on. So I always get Saturday, Sunday AND Monday off
Plus no more night shifts
I worked my arse off at the end of last week. Not at work though, at home! My front garden (5m x 5m ish) went I bought my house was covered in gravel with the odd minature connifer planted here and there. Low maintenance yes, but a bloody eyesore too! Some friends will know that I started to rectify this, yet made things even worse. I had cleared the edges ages ago and was going to plant some hedges but never did, and instead, mahoosive weeds sprung up. 2-3 months ago I got a skip in and bust my balls shifting the gravel into it. Up until last week, there was partial gravel, a big black sheet showing, plus 5ft weeds etc. The place look like a shit hole
Anyway Thursday last week I shifted 15 builders bags worth of gravel, weeds and shite, dug over the entire garden, raked it all and finished the day exhausted, with a broken back and blistered hands.
Friday almost proved painful!
Me: You don't appear to have any turfs outside, do you know if you're getting them in today?
B&Q dolly: Yeah we should be.
Me: Marvellous.
5 mins later.
Me: Hi. Could you possibly check if the turfs are definitely coming in today?
B&Q New Guy: Sure let me just ask someone, I'm new I'm afraid.
B&Q Long Serving Guy: Nah they're not coming.
Me: How about Stevenage?
B&Q Long Serving Guy: Nah they use the same provider.
Me: *looks pale*
B&Q New Guy: Let me ring Stevenage for you. Yep they've got a whole pallet.
Me: I could kiss you.
Putting 20 turfs in my little Corsa wasn't the smartest idea. But then neither was the hay bales for my BBQ last year
Anyway I turfed my front garden and created a plant bed which I planted some lavendar and rosemary in. Then put lots of wood chip down too.
A couple of friends who've seen it were amazed at the transformation. Two lots of neighbours commented on what a stirling job I had done on my own to achieve it. Was the first time in two years I'd spoken to one of the neighbours!
Saturday I drove up to Birmingham with Tony and Zoe to see Dawnii at Modern Body Art. I'm going to get my dads tattoo done on my side, albeit in colour and not the '30 years of sun' look like his (see below). Can't wait. Not till November mind.
We went around town for a bit. Had food. I managed to spend 140 at H&M I bought a jacket and more cool boxers amongst other things.
Saturday night we went out in London for drinks and food at Nandos which was good fun
Sunday I went and saw the Bourne Ultimatum which I thoroughly enjoyed! Pisses all over Bond. Plus I am gay for Matt Damon it has to be said.
Afterwards I headed up London and went to City Invasion, mainly to see Leftover Crack. I didn't get there till just gone 7pm baring in mind it started at about 1pm! The place was full of punk wannabe wankers, some outside throwing traffic cones at an ambulance
Anyway it was nice seeing people including a few SG peeps!
I'm planning on making another video blog shortly in reply to someone elses video. It has very vague links to this video...
Gigs wise, must remember Hot Hot Heat next week. Plus I'm seeing Faithless soonish and The Chemical Brothers in Decemeber I think it is.
Oh and got some belated birthday presents in the shape of The Thermals x2 cds and the Best of Kyuss which were awesome! Thanks guys!
And I saw V for Vendetta for the first time. Great film!
Oh and Sacred Spirit Tattoo in Enfield blew up a week or so ago. At least 1 death in flat above. Police are treating it as murder. Blimey.

The tattoo idea sounds good, as for the tattoo place blowing up i didnt realise enfield had one, i lived there for like 12yrs, im rubbish at knowing were things are!
