I'd booked Friday off to prepare for the BBQ I was hosting. I'd done bits and pieces throughout the week but was still leaving most of it to the last minute as usuall!
I'd booked an opticians appointment for the Friday at SpecSavers. I'd had glasses from about the age of twelve but since finishing 6th form I've not worn them. Just lately though, especially since my change of roles at work meant more time on a PC, I've been a lot more tired and watery eyed!
Anyway as before, my right eye is slightly weaker than my left which means they have to meet in the middle to compensate so I ended up spending 200, thankfully it was buy one pair, get a second pair free!
Had a visit to the GP too to just discuss my medication for my Urticaria, which was a waste of time. Plus I had a letter to hand in from the opticians as although my eyes are healthy, the little blood vessels are wiggly instead of straight but the doctor wasn't concerned as my blood pressure was fine.
So anyway, the BBQ was yesterday.
Jackie was put to work cleaning before everyone else arrived!
Fen & Tony having a competition to put the BBQs together!
Fire! Although Tony put his handles on the wrong side of the BBQ...
Tony in Jackie's motorcycle gear finding a means to keep the alcohol flowing!
Gary there had come all the way from Scotland, the 5 hour journey tired him out!
Holly from Red Dwarf...
Linz and I. That's my 'I'm drunk so have to pull faces for pics' pose...
Lots of drunk people...
My garden the following morning...
Anyway, it was a great weekend. The weather held out and the food was fab! Most people were up till 4am either chatting or playing Guitar Hero on the PS2! Oh and katamari damacy which as an idea for a game is just stupid, but blimey it's addictive!
Much alcohol was drunk, including pear cider and punch! I now have 6 hay bales to dispose of!?
All in all I had a great time, thanks to everyone who made it! You're all stars in my book, especially Gary and Neil for trekking all the way from Scotland! Bad luck to everyone that dropped out!
Oh and Italy won the World Cup Final, so I get 30 from the work sweepstake! Hooray
