Today I was close to go to jail. I was with a friend in a parking lot with her car. I saw a 7-11 shop on the other side of the street, and because she's pregnant and I liked only to buy quickly a coke, I crossed the street without using the crosswalk. When I was crossing I saw the police car...
Before exiting from the shop, I saw the police man outside waiting... I was very scared and I thought ,"I can exit quickly and run away... but when I tried to do it he called me first once, then when I was not giving him any answer, he called me again. I had to stop. He asked me for my ID, but I do not have a Californian ID. I showed him my passport , and I asked him what I did wrong. He told me that without a Californian ID he has to bring me to the jail, that I should not cross the street in that way, and he asked if in Italy we do that... I told him, "yes, more or less we do that...." After he asked me about my address in LA and my phone number. Without having a good answer back he told me, "ok I'll let you go, but don't try to be against the law again."
Life is strange, I just crossed the street. I should be more careful, but at least I'm not selling drugs!!!
