i go through the aggravation and pressure of this journal every summer. and when im ready to pull my hair out, these numbers remind me why i do it:
21 years - how old he is now
19 years - how long hes had to deal with this
20,805 - approx number of injections hes taken
41,610 - approx how many times hes had to test his blood sugar
7 - number of times hes been hospitalized from related illnesses
2 - number of times we had to do an emergency glucose shot cause we found him seizing on the verge of a diabetic coma
he's the only one of us that doesnt remember what his life was like before being diagnosed with diabetes. if i had the option to give my life so he would know what it was like, i would in a heartbeat. but i cant, so i just do anything else i possibly can. how could i not? i love my brother.
