And being in the UK does not absolve you of your duty to watch The Wire. If you find yourself without something to inhabit your "telly" (heheh) you should see about renting (or downloading, with that mean machine you run) the first few episodes to check out.
Oh, and it sounds like you got quite the haul in birthday presents! I have no doubts you'll put them to good use.
