I spoke to my friend just now (and I swore to myself that this was to be an early night) and he makes me so happy.
I am going to miss him SO frickin much next year (he's taking the year off) I hear Columbia does that to people. hahah, Fascists.
He was online and told me he desperately needed to talk to me, and we had one of those conversations that just anchors it in for you that this is a good friend.
So sad that he will be absent next year.
Anyway, he told me all about his new prospect. Sounds like the ideal guy for him. My friend's a complete prep. I love him to pieces.
If anyone wants to know who to blame for making me undeniably preppy, it would be him. And artenysis knows this, because she knows my friend. A Minnesotan! I speak of Artenysis only because I know that she, like the best friend she is and should be, checks up on me regularly on SG, although her account has long since expired.
So now since I'm no longer the least bit sleepy, but all my friends are under the impression that I am in bed asleep, I will serenade you all with anecdotes (meaningless, yes) from my life.
So recently, I've been doing a lot of LSAT-ing. I'm taking them next year, AH!!! This shouldn't worry me because I did surprisingly well on the practice go, and I'm just brushing up on my time. (Anyone who has taken them knows that it's all about the time!) So I think the reason I'm anxious about them is because I've recently been going through a lot of changing. Intellectually as well. I've been thinking about what I'd like to do with my life. I think I'm more ready than ever to so my summer in Paris next year... I hope to get an internship at the World Bank, or at least with something diplomatic (hopefully my internship at the French Embassy here this year will aid in that process)
I went to Central Park tonight. Around 10:30 a drum circle made it's way to where I was camped out, and we all sang and drummed and danced in the fountains, It was amazing. A lot of fun... oddly liberating. I had heard them last night (I spend too much time in the park, I agree) and was wondering what the fuss was all about. Now I know.
So then, I'm feeling very good about my trip back to Chicago. I leave on the 4th. At first I was reticent to go back. I'd miss NY, but I'm happy to be able to see my family and of course my friends. I'm coming back for this epic beach party on the 20th, about which I'm terribly excited. I'm glad the date "magically" changed to one that fit my schedule better.
I have tons more to say for some reason or another, but I will spare you all.
I will be better about updating, I promise. Especially since Art. no longer lives 3 feet away from me.
Here's to a great summer coming to a close. I will enjoy this last month like none other!
