i haven't read "desolation angels", but the title sounds absolutely delightful. i'm very into words, the prettier the better, and "desolation angels" sounds wonderfully pretty. i think that's what i like about kerouac best. forget deeper meaning, beatniks, way of life...it's just pretty.

Know what you mean. Thats one of the reasons I didn't really get along with people when I was in kuwait university, they kept attacking my point of view on things and expect me to sit down and shut up. I never did and eventually I was given a diploma after a year and told to just leave.
