Hello everyone! If you don't know me, let me introduce myself- I am Starryskiezz Suicide. I think I will begin my very first blog by telling you all everything about myself that I deem to be important. <3
So, to begin, science and research is my life. One day I aim to become a doctor in internal medicine or infectious disease. Or I would like to work at the Centre for Disease Control (the CDC)! I'm literally studying 24/7 and occasionally stop to take pictures of my adorable butt & gorgeous selfless when I feel pretty. I'd have to say- I have about three looks during the week, much like Jenna Marbles in her "Three Looks" music video. I'd say look 1 is a badass professional babe, look 2 is my Suicidegirl/stripper look, and look 3 is me being homeless and/or a 12yr old boy hiding away in my lab... haha there is not much in between! I currently research T-cell exhaustion (ie. how your immune system gets shut down and is unable to fight back) in people with chronic viral infections such as hepatitis B and C, and HIV, as well as in various cancers. I am working to make treatments that will make the quality of life of patients better. I strive to make others happy and to make their lives better, even in adverse circumstances. Along with that, I get to work with immune cells, placentas from patients with inflammatory bowel disease, lots of blood & scary viruses (note though that it's totally safe because I'm super trained in safety when working with stuff like this- getting certified takes quite some time!).
I am absolutely in love with all sorts of animals, from tarantulas, to kitty cats, to snakes & my chameleon Bames. I love people (despite occasionally claiming to hate people), and I love video games, anime, all sorts of music, and reading. I think my favorite thing to do is simply to spend time with my loved ones when I have free time! Life is hectic when you're an academic so you must always take advantage of free time or make free time to relax. I'm going to have to say that my favorite video games are Final Fantasy games, Zelda, Harvest Moon, and Kingdom Hearts. My current favorite anime is Re: Zero! I also love complying with my best friend!
You may wonder why I am a Suicidegirl, but I'm also an academic... to put it simply, I have found that in my field, women who embrace their sexuality are looked down upon and not taken seriously. The sad reality is that in science, it is extremely difficult to be an intelligent women, be attractive, and to love your body and embrace your sexuality as a women and to be taken seriously. Women like myself are denied jobs for showing off our bodies on the internet and for loving ourselves. When you are a woman like me, people see you as an unintelligent object rather than a brilliant young woman. That stereotype needs to change. Women take part in being Suicidegirls for various reasons and I don't judge any of them- you do whatever you want with your life to be happy. Life is short & so we need to make the best of our short, beautiful lives. Making the best of your life doesn't necessarily mean making a huge impact in the world- it means having a purpose for yourself and living without regret. But I am a Suicidegirl hopeful because I hope to encourage others to love themselves and to fight for change in our world.
