What's your favorite game?
This is probably a few parter, and TBH I've never done a blog homework so there's a tl;dr at the bottom :D (lazy fucks)
Zelda, the great gateway drug. I, like many of you grew up on Ocarina of Time, the coming-of-jesus for modern video games. I had a particularly shitty home life, so for me I liked to escape the shit world to go into Hyrule, where evil was apparent from an obvious villain, and overcoming obstacles is a mere feat of button mashing. I attribute much of my existence to OoT, and HP hence they were my first two tattoos. If I'm being truthful, my favorite Zelda is actually Majora's Mask. I *love* puzzles, and I found the story a bit darker which my emo ass was 110% on board with.
I started to explore the realms, I had a stint in the 90's for Ultima Online (high five old people!). Days before online gaming culture became the fucking upside down. I dabbed in league, not really my thing. I just went to Blizzcon in place for my older brother (single dad, wanted some swags) and TBH I had so much fomo, it's so similar to Ultima and the community was absolutely not what I expected. I delved into some more research, and just started planning a super-gaming PC so I can pleb it up. (What faction are you guys??)
Fast forward a few years, I started working with Oculus. I love virtual reality, and got to experience it literally from the first headset to the final product. They were a great company before they got bought, I'm really glad they did-don't get me wrong. It's great to have VR accessible to the masses, but man sexism runs rampant at Facebook and I left about 2 years ago. In the tail end of my Oculus relationship, I jumped into school for programming, and finished my specialization in Game Development. Yippee!
Right now I'm building my PC on MFC and Twitch, I'm really excited to get to play more games with you guys and make my streams that much cooler. I know I kind of hi-jacked this blog homework into my dissertation but now you guys can know a little bit more about me and why I'm here doin' my thing!
