So I got to work in the clinic today for the first time. I do not know if this is going to be permanent for every Sunday or if they're just really low on vet tecs. But who knows, lets see what unfolds.
oh am i reading this as you got a new job or are you a volunteer in the animal clinic? and how was your first day there? hope, you had a good start
btw: to answer your question about the customized vinyl toys. i use for the basic shape usually magic sculpt (it is a 2 compound clay, which gets steel hard after about 6-7 hours) and then for the details and for building up the structure i use polymer clay. just as tip, in case you customize vinyl/plastic toys as well, don't bake them in the oven. use a heat gun to bake the polymer clay
No, I've been working at this shelter since the beginning of this year as a Animal Care Associate. I've been working towards getting into an ACO (Animal Control Officer) position. But a lot of the counties in the state I live in have a huge job freeze, so now I am switching gears on becoming a Vet Tec, and in Florida you don't have to be certified to work as one. You just get a lower pay grade.
I never really played with any of the vinyl toy stuff. I was more into Sculpty clay and making statues. This was required of me when I went ot art college and we had to make statues of our characters for Character Design class. That was so much fun! But I could never learn properly to use to oven. D: Looking at your toy mods makes me miss those days.
