Crazy month. My mother moved into her parents basement the Weds. before Thanksgiving. She hired movers to do the big stuff, thank god. I was having flashes of giving myself a hernia trying to move her sofa sleeper. I came home that Weds. because Mom asked me to hook up her computer for her. She's not very technologically savvy. It took me three calls to get ahold of her, and she told me her computer was sitting on the floor of her apartment, and hadn't been moved yet. Okay, no problem, I went to my Grandpa's farm to stay with my Dad. The next morning, I took my brother out to my Grandparents house where we waited impatiently for the rest of the family to get there. When my Aunt Debbie arrived, we headed on out to Bonanza for a turkey dinner. There was so much going on, we didn't want to stress more with fixing a big meal and cleaning up after it, so we went out. When we got home, my brother and I ganged up on my Aunt in several rounds of UNO. Then my Uncle Ed and his fiance Sarah arrived with Socks, the very sweet kitty that my Mom and brother were adopting from them. The first time I tried to pick him up, I almost dropped him... he goes absolutely limp when you pick him up, and it's tough to hang onto a boneless cat! We went downstairs to my Mom's "house" to watch some movies, and Sarah and I got to talking. She came with me to return the movies, and when we got back, everyone was asleep. We were both night owls and not tired at all, so we sat in the den and talked about anything and everything until 2 in the morning. It was great, but we were both tired when we got up at 7:30 the next morning. Fortunately, we had caffeine, and Sarah and Uncle Ed stole me when they went home to get ready for their wedding the next day. Gotta go right now, I'll do another entry later with details on the wedding.
