I just realized I havent posted what happened at work yesterday.
However they got on the subject, Neil and Bo were discussing gay people. And as usual they were discussing them in an insulting fashion. Usually they joke and kid around about it, and I dont take offense to jokes, after all, I dish out my fair share of jokes as well.
In their conversation Neil also said that gay people shouldnt be allowed to teach.
But then Neil, Bo, and Terri started saying people theyve dealt with who are gay, very much the same way people may have talked about the commies 50 years ago, so I started getting on edge even more. Not to mention the number of conversation theyve had about alternate sexualities before, where they seem to think every gay person is some sort of sexual deviant.
Then Terri says "Well some of them are ok" and I can be quiet no longer.
I say "You mean most of them are OK, just like any other group of people there a few bad people as well."
Bo says "I dont mind the ones who act normal, but the really flaming ones bother me. What wrong with them?" etc etc
I say "Nothing is wrong with them, thats just who they are. What does it matter to you how they act?"
He cant think of anything intelligent to say, of course. Basically a response of "I just dont like them."
So Im pissed off. I say "Go ahead and be stupid and close minded then."
He gets super pissed and says "Who is being close minded?"
I start to talk, and he tells me to drop it. I figured I might as well, as these idiots will never get it through all the bullshit in their head that they need to be tolerant of EVERYONE. NOT just people they are comfortable with.
How pitiful is it that they are so scared of gay people they have to hate them? Oh no! Its different! I must hate it!

Ive decided Im not talking to any of them anymore unless it strictly has to do with work. Their lucky Im even doing that and not trying to beat the shit out of them.
Im not an angry person, Im not a violent person. But this is the one issue that can make me that way.
