I completely forgot to tell you about the kamikaze owl, all 6 inches and 7 ounces of him.
I'm walking along at work, minding my own employers business when I hear a quiet but distinct ping. I look to my left at the antique light post, the metal octagonal kind with at least 25 layers of green rustoleum on it, to find a liltle pile...

Bloody contact wouldn't come out this morning. Damn thing got folded over and glued itself down. I thought I was gonna have to go in with an ice scraper and a garden hose.
By the way, I'm watching REPO: The Genetic Opera, damn this is cool.

So, I got hit in the head with an owl at work today. Story to follow.
On my way to sneak preview of Terminator: Assured Awesomeness!
stampedeofworms:
It was good, but Star Trek was better. Christian Bale did everything he possibly could with the script he was given.
I wanna know, where's James Cameron? Terminator, Aliens, Abyss, huge stories with great gravity that also manage to be intensly personal and character driven. Where are you Mr. Cameron? Spielburg is gone, lost somewhere. Lucas, well, how the mighty have fallen.
I guess it's up to Del Toro and Abrams, also I hope to Besson.

How does everyone deal with work burnout?
That was fun.
Luvamoose only outweighed the Vet by 10 or 15 pounds.
Up on the table? Yeah, right.
She was a total bitch, Luvamoose, not the Vet. She snapped, she snarled, she tagged my right hand. Not bad, just enough to remind me she was a large large dog and I was covered in soft pink stuff.
When I set the appointment I asked...

Well, that was quite an adventure! You should post this blog in a thread in one of the groups - it's a classic!!
I'm glad that you, Luvamoose, the Vet and all the other two and four legged creatures came through unscathed.

I finally watched Adams's Apples last night. I really enjoyed it - thanks for the recommendation!
I immediately recalled seeing Mads Mikkelsen in After the Wedding - I enjoyed that one as well. It would appear that I've watched a couple of other films in which Ulrich Thomsen was featured. I just can't remember him. I was impressed enough by the work he did in AA that I'm going to have to go back and see them again.

I'm going to attempt to take Luvamoose the dog to the vet today. Attempt.

Good luck!
I still have a scar from a day 10 years ago when I decided to attempt to take Ashley the cat to the vet.
I hope that things go better with you and Lovamoose.

I spent time in the day this weekend. It reminded me why I love the farm so much. It's set to rain for several days, but my next days off I am going on a rural American photoshoot.

Now that you mentioned it, I did some thinking about what was truly my first foray into foriegn cinema. I was in sixth grade and my friends and I journeyed into the city to see a French film we'd heard about - featuring Brigette Bardot. I was hooked. Bergman, Fellini, and all the rest came somewhat later...
Glad to hear that you're making the best of all this recent and ongoing damp weather.

Ah, Claudia Cardinale
I'd last seen her in Fitzcarraldo -I'd watched it and Aguirre: The Wrath of God one Sunday a couple of weeks back. Yesterday I enjoyed her in Once Upon a Time in the West. I own it and love it; your comment suddenly made it a must see!
I'll admit it - it's amazing, even today, how many of my film viewing choices are made because of the beautiful (and talented, of course!) actresses in them.

Have you ever done volunteer work with someone who takes said volunteer work as their mission in life and the defining element of their existance, and gets pissy when you don't?
I did my hours and produced. I handed off my work to another to turn in, as I live nocturnally. Another got sick and didn't make it to the meeting so I got blasted...

In the immortal words of Clare Boothe Luce, "No good deed goes unpunished".
I am a fan of all great films, and quite a few mediocre ones
Adam's Apples looks most interesting. I've placed it on my queue. With any luck at all I should reciive it on Saturday. If not, early next week.
Scandanavian Cinema? One of the reasons I originally developed my great love of foriegn film. One word. "Bergman."

Funny story.
I told you I have been really sick lately. Well, the other night I fell very violently ill with my contacts in. I was so sick I went through some period of delerium. Come about 4 in the morning I finally woke up and was feeling marginally better. I figured I'd better let luvamoose out and, hey, I could stand to take a...
