Anybody know the rule of thumb on bacon frying? Is it until the white fatty stuff becomes transparent?

I tried to cook some this morning and I don't know if I cooked it enough. It's really great bacon though, I got it from the butcher. It's really thick and more than a foot long.

If I develope trichynosis and die, ya heard it here first....

If I ever volunteer to teach again, SMACK ME HARD. Find a way.

I miss having time.

Bald Eagle has been around for some days now. She/he screeches at Bart.

Back to work.

Well, by "not bad" what I meant was "oh, so you were on the good side as opposed to getting busted for a long string of petty offenses," but sure, "tough enough" works too. wink

Frozen eyes seem like an unusual occupational hazard for those lines of work. A remarkably unpleasant one, too. I never realized that was actually possible. Frostbitten eyelids, maybe, but... yeah, my imagination stops there.
liante:
Yes, that does indeed sound singularly unpleasant.

I'm studying corporate law because it's one of the subjects that gets covered on every bar exam in every state of this nation, and it would be a painful and embarrassing thing to have suffered here for three years only to fail the bar and not be able to practice after all. wink

And, also, it's rapidly showing me that yes, I was right not to go for big-firm practice after all. I can safely say that I do not understand the mindset of people who enjoy this field at all.

Looked up from preparing my class tonight and wasn't sure the world was still out there.

It was black. I mean black, everywhere. Even Bart was gone. No Distant headlights on the highway, no signs of life. Silence but for the wind.

So I called my Sister. World found.

I tellya there's a reason batchelor farmers are wierd. Being out here alone all the time...

I mixed Reece's Piece's in Bart the Farmdog's dogfood at dinner! I have never seen a dog so intent in all my life.

Doggy zen focus.
He was on a mission.
He would have them all.
He would have them all simultainiously.

I have been giving Bart lotsa treats trying to fatten him up, he had lost significant weight hanging out at the niehbors' and...

Why on earth would Amazon not send certain things to Canada?

I have gotten almost nothing done today so tonight I have to be some kind of productive. I at least wanna get the joint vaccuumed.

OH, I did get one thing done for somebody's birthday, but all details are classified.

Here's an early holiday wish: I hope none of us are alone for US...

fyi: i think i have a small idea of what you got that person for their birthday. just between the two of us though. wink

haha...
liante:
Yeah, I think I phrased that question badly. The idea was: if you could go ten years back in time and give the-you-that-existed-then any single object, what would it be?

As for Ingres vs. Delacroix... toughie, but I'd have to go with Ingres, who generally paints in a more visually realistic style (whereas Delacroix seems a little more off-and-on, being sometimes very realistic and other times very impressionistic).

However, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not very well-versed in Orientalist painters, and did my set more as a commentary on the 'exoticizing' of Middle Eastern and East Asian cultures by those gosh-darn whiteys. I know the literature and cultural theory much better than I do the painters. Plus I had the costume and props already. wink

I stepped in shit and came out smellin' like a rose yesterday.

I was not in any way prepared to lecture. Not in the least. I was so angry with myself and so tense I think I got my kidney stones to moving. I kept sneaking off from training at work to write lecture and hauled ass down to the flower shoppe to get images...

Umm...i don't know. I like surprises.

I don't really know what would be a good new profile picture. As you have noticed mine hasn't changed for quite a while either.

Lonely and bored tonight.
Not the greatest feeling yet.

Roadtrip this morning! Sis and I are headed up the road to a city (wow!) no less! A city with real bookstores!

I think I may be getting misty.

Also lunch, from a restaurant where I may have to actually order and the entire staff didn't go to school with me or know my family.

I watched some TV last night, I was getting to...

Must prepare for class. Really obvious when the teacher hasn't done his homework.

Yes, I am hoping to at least make a friend out of this deal. Meeting a really pretty co-ed with an interest in art would be grand slam.

Wish me luck.
